The month of October, known worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, takes on a special charm in Zagreb’s iconic Hotel Esplanade. Throughout the month, Esplanade 1925 Lounge & Cocktail Bar and Le Bistro are transformed into elegant pink havens where indulgence meets compassion. Every pink treat and cocktail carries a deeper meaning — a gesture of solidarity, care, and hope for women affected by breast cancer.

La Vie en Rose Celebration

As tradition goes, the Esplanade glows with soft pink hues, warm emotions, and a noble purpose. This year, Esplanade’s talented pastry chef Mirjana Špoljar has created a delicate dessert symbolizing the pink ribbon — La Vie en Rose. This velvet-smooth, creamy delight harmoniously blends Opalys chocolate, mascarpone, and tonka beans, enhanced by marinated raspberries and a hint of peppery mint. The dessert is not only a feast for the senses but also an act of kindness — 10% of every purchase will be donated to the Marra Altrui Association, an organization that helps women regain confidence and a sense of wholeness during and after breast cancer treatment through medical micropigmentation.

Exclusive Line of Pink Cocktails

To complement the dessert, Esplanade’s master mixologist Vjenceslav Madić – Master Kishoni has crafted an exclusive line of pink cocktails at the Esplanade 1925 Bar. The Ruby Bubbles combines Old Pilot’s vodka, Hyggis artisanal raspberry gelato, lemon juice, Italicus liqueur, Peychaud’s bitters, and Prosecco Villa Sandi. This modern sorbet-style cocktail offers a smooth balance of fruit and floral notes, with raspberry gelato replacing lemon for a unique twist.

For those who prefer a gin-based option, the Pink Sour blends gin infused with vanilla, strawberry purée, and fresh lime, creating a refreshing yet elegant mix. The classic Pink G&T is given a rosy transformation with hibiscus and tonic, while a non-alcoholic Think Pink mocktail ensures that everyone can join the celebration.

To elevate the pink experience further, Le Bistro offers a carefully curated selection of rosé wines and sparkling wines, including Prosecco Rosé Villa Sandi, Château Minuty 281 from Provence, Rosé Brut Šember from Plešivica, and the luxurious Ruinart Rosé Champagne.
