Chef Ana Grgić Tomić unveils a new à la carte menu full of creative fantasy
Appetizers include marinated sardines served with pickled agretti, shallot escabeche, raisins and pine nuts, and crispy tapioca. “This dish perfectly reflects our philosophy: few ingredients, but rich in flavor,” says Chef Ana Tomić. For an intense taste of the sea, there's tuna marinated in soy sauce and sesame, paired with corn tacos, spicy tomato-chili marmalade, basil aioli, and roasted pepper and fennel gazpacho. The scallop tartare features Oscietra caviar, pickled apricot tartare, English celery, and elderflower aioli.
Vegetarian options highlight the best of summer, such as roasted figs with rosemary and honey, goat cheese mousse, smoked almond pesto, and fig leaf oil. You can also enjoy creamy asparagus soup or the signature Esplanade risotto with nettles, tuna bottarga, and lime.
Main courses feature modern takes on classics, with special attention to seasonal ingredients and refined details. The venison ossobuco is served with homemade corn gnocchi in a herb and wine sauce, while the lamb rack is paired with young peas and broccoli, elevated by a mint-infused panko crumble.
Fish, of course, is a summer essential: try crispy roasted red mullet with a sun-dried tomato crust, white polenta, and sweet-spicy tomato chili marmalade. There's also poached salmon with rhubarb marmalade, wasabi cream, and coriander foam.
“This menu is dedicated to summer—light, seasonal, and full of flavors that evoke the sea and the Mediterranean,” says Chef Ana Grgić Tomić. “Each dish is designed to bring guests a moment of pleasure and a reason to return. I believe food should be authentic and made with love—just the way I’d want to eat it myself.”
In addition to seasonal novelties, the menu retains beloved classics: baked Esplanade štrukli (also available gluten-free), hand-chopped steak tartare from premium cuts, traditional French onion soup, crispy chicken Caesar salad, and an authentic Viennese schnitzel fried in butter and served with creamy mashed potatoes and leafy salad.
Desserts round off the meal with elegance: burnt honey crémeux with apricots and sparkling wine jelly, a strawberry tart with pistachio and frangipane cream, and marinated figs with lavender, Amalfi lemon, and ricotta.
From Monday to Sunday, between 12 PM and 5 PM, Le Bistro offers a Menu du Jour: a three-course meal curated by the chef, with a glass of wine and coffee or tea, for €42.
Le Bistro also serves an à la carte breakfast daily from 9 AM to 11 AM. Guests can enjoy fresh fruit, eggs Benedict, avocado toast, croissants, homemade pancakes, and excellent coffee, all in the shade of the terrace.
