A Chic Haven for Relaxation

The Melegran Hotel features some of Rovinj's most creatively designed rooms. Much of the furniture has been sourced from London, resulting in a playful yet elegant interior. The design exudes wit and personality, with vibrant colors, playful motifs, and soft textures adorning every corner. Adrian and Lea Calvert, the proud owners, view Melegran as more than just a hotel; it's a place where they've gathered their travel memories and graciously share them with their guests. On each journey, they bring back souvenirs, which find a special place within the hotel's walls.

"We wanted to create a glamorous space, but, more importantly, a place that would engage and open up our guests to the local culture. We wanted them to discover the essence of Rovinj while being surrounded by an atmosphere and details that resonate with their sensibilities," said Lea for the Kult Plave Kamenice magazine.

Every room at Melegran holds delightful surprises. From captivating wallpapers that transport guests to the owners' favorite travel destinations to the indulgence of Egyptian cotton linens and the nostalgia of Olivetti typewriters for guests to type their own stories. The colorful decor is complemented by a blend of luxurious amenities, including Nespresso coffee machines, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, and Smeg kettles, alongside classic comforts like air-conditioning, minibars, and safes. Thoughtful extras such as branded beach bags, towels, and decks of cards for the game of "Briškula" (derived from the Italian original "Briscola") reflect the hotel's meticulous attention to detail. It's worth noting that the owners' children adore playing "Briškula" with their grandparents and wanted to incorporate this tradition into the Melegran experience.

The Melegran Hotel's excellence extends beyond its interior design. Architect Edita Geci played a pivotal role in bringing the entire project to life, ensuring that every detail reflects the unique vision of the hotel. Furthermore, the lighting design is a masterpiece crafted by the renowned designer Dean Skira, whose work we have previously written about.

Impeccable Location

Apart from the attention paid to design mixed with creature comforts, what sets the Melegran apart is its impeccable location in the middle of the old town. Situated steps away from many cafes, bars, and restaurants, you can truly immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Rovinj's historic district. Moreover, some of the town's most beloved tourist attractions, such as the City Museum, the Batana Eco-Museum, and the panoramic St. Eufemia's Church, are a mere five-minute walk away. If you're looking to explore beyond Rovinj, the hotel's proximity to transport links is a significant advantage. The bus station and ferry terminal, offering connections to enchanting destinations like Venice, are both less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. How amazing is that?

If you're searching for the perfect place to stay in Rovinj, offering charm and an unparalleled location, The Melegran Hotel is the answer. This boutique haven promises an unforgettable coastal experience that captures the very essence of Rovinj's unique allure. Prices range from €80 to €179 for October, November, and December 2023 stays.
