You can opt for a boat ride, rowboat, or canoe adventure. If you choose a boat ride, it awaits you on Lake Veliki Sakadaš, where your exciting journey through this wildlife reserve begins. The rowboat adventure starts from the Sakadaš dock, while if you prefer a canoe trip, you can enjoy paddling with Park's assistance. This highly preserved wetland habitat offers an enormous biological diversity. The landscape constantly changes with the seasons and the ebb and flow of water. Of course, the water movements greatly influence the distribution of animal species. At the end of February, the flooding of Kopački Rit begins, while the dry period lasts from August to February. During this time, birds can be found in abundance on the ponds, and you can enjoy the sight of tens of thousands of geese and ducks during spring and autumn migrations. But even in winter, you can marvel at the birds. In fact, tens of thousands of geese and ducks from Western Siberia make Kopački Rit their refuge. So far, 295 bird species have been recorded here—absolutely stunning, isn't it?

Stroll Along the Educational Lopoč Trail

Kopački Rit also boasts the educational Lopoč trail. This trail stretches for 1200 meters from the Kopački Rit visitor center to the Sakadaš dock. The Presentation and Education Center Tikveš is located in the northern part of Kopački Rit. This is a truly unique multimedia and interactive setup that brings visitors closer to all the characteristics of Kopački Rit. Here, you can uncover the secrets of the park and get to know not only its natural phenomena but also its cultural heritage. Tikveš Castle includes multiple buildings that you can explore, such as the New Castle with an Annex and the Old Castle dating back to the 19th century. The castle was built by members of the Teschen branch of the Habsburg family and served as a hunting residence for rulers and distinguished guests. Today, it's accessible to all visitors. The castle itself is beautiful, surrounded by lush forests. When you approach along the tree-lined road, you'll feel like you're in a fairy tale. The castle and nature offer a special serenity, especially in autumn when the leaves in the forest turn warm shades of orange and red. From this beautiful scene, you'll spot a breathtaking brick building, sparking contemplation about how wonderful it must have been to enjoy tea here with such a stunning forest view.
