For over a century, the Bugatti brand has mastered the art of coachbuilding—crafting unique, bespoke vehicles. Today, Bugatti Rimac introduces Solitaire, an ultra-exclusive program devoted to creating entirely one-of-a-kind cars, with unmatched attention to detail and personalization. The first creation in this program is Brouillard, a coupé inspired by the favorite horse of Bugatti’s founder, Ettore Bugatti.
“The Solitaire program allows us to explore our clients’ visions with greater freedom in interpreting classic Bugatti design elements. Every Solitaire model will be truly incomparable, with a level of craftsmanship rarely seen, even in the most exclusive automotive creations,” said Hendrik Malinowski, Bugatti Rimac’s Commercial Director.

A Sculpture in Motion
Brouillard is built on the most powerful iteration of Bugatti’s W16 platform, delivering 1,600 PS—the culmination of nearly two decades of engineering evolution. Its design emphasizes flowing, organically sculpted surfaces reminiscent of a horse’s muscular form. Sharp edges are absent, replaced by sculptural elegance and purity that conceals technical complexity.
“Making something look simple is, in truth, incredibly complex,” adds Frank Heyl, Director of Design. “We had to integrate all the technological demands, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics of a 1,600-PS hypersports car, while staying true to the guiding philosophy—shared by both us and the client—that Brouillard must radiate dignity.”
The lower third of the vehicle is finished in dark tones, visually blending with its own shadow. Most of the visual impression comes from the upper two-thirds, giving the silhouette a lighter, more dynamic presence—appearing lower, longer, and with proportionally larger wheels. Aerodynamic elements, such as the fixed rear spoiler and innovative diffuser, are seamlessly integrated into the body.
Inside, the car sets new benchmarks for luxury and craftsmanship. Materials include tartan-pattern fabrics, Le Crin horsehair, green-tinted carbon composite, aluminum accents, and a glass roof linking exterior and interior. The gear selector is milled from a single block of aluminum and features a hand-crafted sculpture of Brouillard’s horse inlaid in amber.
A Collector’s Dream
The owner of this unique piece is a prominent Bugatti collector who also holds significant Bugatti family artworks, including works by Carlo and Rembrandt Bugatti. The Brouillard car was conceived as a fusion of the Bugatti family’s artistic disciplines, with the horse as a central emblem of Ettore’s inspiration.
Bugatti Brouillard will make its official debut at Monterey Car Week as the first project under the Solitaire program. Going forward, no more than two cars per year will be produced under this initiative, each using existing powertrains but featuring entirely bespoke bodies and interiors.
