There comes a time in every young urban creative’s life to leave the concrete grounds of their city and venture into nature. Your mind needs an occasional vent, and what better way to loosen up than grooving to the beats of the forest?

Forestland is a magical place in Croatia that allows you to dance for two days straight, being surrounded by nothing but greenery. It’s an electronic dance music festival that first saw the light of day ten years ago.

That’s when a group of friends didn’t manage to get tickets to another Croatian EDM spectacle, Ultra Europe. So, they decided to kick off their own EDM festival on the opposite side of what Croatia is most known about – the coast.

Forestland Festival takes advantage of the massive 35,000 m2 field in the continental region of Međimurje and turns it into an enchanted venue for partygoers.

10k People Attended Forestland 2022

This year, Forestland was the biggest ever! 10th anniversary of the festival, nicknamed Forestland X, welcomed more than 60 DJs that tuned in with Mother Nature. 2022 lineup included EDM but also hip-hop, trap, and rap names: Saša Mikac (one of the organizers), Avadox, Corti Organ, Vedran Car, Lawrence Apaga, Timo G, Sasha Mikac, Sid Cisse, Simon Majcen, JuraS, Aneas, Rasta, Noel Holler, Nucci, Voyage, the Yellowheads, Rosana Rabuza, to name some.

With many on the stage (three to be exact) come many in front of it. Imagine being comfortably crowded by more than ten thousand like-minded spirits. Some of them are dance-sweating it out, sporty ones are participating in a volleyball tournament, adrenaline junkies are ziplining, ink heads are getting tats in a dedicated tattoo place, and if you need a buzz – there’s a barber too!

You see, there’s plenty to enjoy on Forestland, which may affect your sleeping schedule. Luckily, you can retire to your camp chambers and get a few hours of beauty sleep.

The Best EDM Festival in Croatia

Međimurje, the northernmost part of Croatia, has experienced a major tourist bloom due to the successful regional impact of Forestland that only lasts for 48 hours each July. The festival has also caught the eye of 47 electronic music ambassadors (Klubska scena) that proclaimed Forestland the best EDM festival in Croatia!

Such a title, along with having sponsors like Beck’s, Red Bull, and the Croatian national energy company (HEP), has put Forestland on the European map of EDM festivals and the map of green music celebrations. Mali Mihaljevec, a village within the municipality of Sveti Juraj na Bregu where Forestland is taking place, is triumphantly harnessing the energy of party people and turning it into a mesmerizing blast.

To conclude, the price levels of tickets for Forestland 2022 were rather attractive, ranging from 20 to 30 euros, and are available for purchase online.
